About GATE It is the mission of Huntsville City School's Gifted and Talented program to engage students in topics as practicing professionals with real life problem solving.
We promote creative and critical thinking skills. Students are involved in curriculum with advanced, conceptually challenging, in-depth, and complex content while addressing cognitive, affective, aesthetic, social and leadership domains. We encourage learning experiences with peers to facilitate academic growth and meet the socio-emotional needs of gifted students. Our program’s goals are to enable our students to become college and career ready self-directed autonomous learners, to promote the development of metacognition, and to encourage students to become intellectual risk takers. |
